Ridgewood, NJ
Driving lessons in Ridgewood, from downtown parking to Route 17 and Garden State Parkway confidence.
Learning to drive in Ridgewood
Ridgewood's busy downtown, centered on Ridgewood Avenue and East Ridgewood Avenue near the train station, is full of pedestrians, crosswalks, delivery vehicles and on-street parking. It's a great place to sharpen observation and low-speed control. Around downtown, winding residential streets and hills add variety.
Route 17 runs along Ridgewood's eastern border and the Garden State Parkway is close by to the west, so local students can build up to highway driving without going far. Many Ridgewood teens come to us for the required behind-the-wheel training, and many parents ask for extra sessions to help with the 50 hours of supervised practice New Jersey now requires for drivers under 21.
