Learning to drive in Fort Lee

Fort Lee is one of the most demanding places to learn to drive in New Jersey. Approaches to the George Washington Bridge, the junction of Route 4, I-95 and the Palisades Interstate Parkway, steep grades on the Palisades, and dense high-rise neighborhoods along Lemoine Avenue and Main Street all ask a new driver to stay focused.

Many of our Fort Lee students are adults, including many international license holders who already drive and now need to learn New Jersey rules and pass the road test, as well as nervous drivers who have avoided driving because of the traffic. We start on calmer side streets, teach hill starts and parking on grades, and only move toward bridge approaches and highway merges when you are ready. The goal is real-world confidence, not just passing a test.

Road test for Fort Lee drivers

Fort Lee drivers commonly test at the NJ MVC road test site in Lodi (8 Mill St, off Garibaldi Ave). Fort Lee drivers usually test in Lodi, reached via Route 4 West or I-80. NJ MVC road tests are by appointment only; schedule through the NJ MVC. Our road test prep includes mock tests and can include use of our car.
